Upon the introduction of Microsoft's .NET technology, the direction set by Microsoft was to provide a framework for all operating environments (i.e. Windows, Unix (AIX/Solaris/Linux/etc),mainframe (i.e. zOS) and so on). The power of .NET on Windows is fantastic and my choice for development.
There has not been much said about Unix and mainframe direction. Has Microsoft changed strategy? Or, is there current development underway setting frameworks that will support .NET on these platforms?
